Please wear comfortable, modest clothing as a considerable amount of time is spent completing the practical elements of the training, particularly, CPR. Also bring a pen and paper for taking notes.
Please discuss any language, literacy or numeracy issues with us prior to attending. This will enable the instructor to organise appropriate support facilities, for example, we can arrange to conduct assessments orally rather than in the written form, or provide extra tuition as appropriate.
Please discuss with the instructor prior to attending, any health issues which may affect your training and assessment. Practicing of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is usually done on the floor using training manikins.
We do not discriminate against any individual on the basis of race, colour, sex or religion. All students are treated equally. Our instructors will assist and support students where appropriate, especially those students with language, literacy or physical disabilities, where the nature of the disability does not preclude them from completing the training and assessment. The CPR Statement of Attainment is valid for 12 months. The Provide First Aid -HLTAID003 and HLTAID004 Statement of Attainments are valid for 3 (Three) years.
The course runs in a classroom-type face to face trainer led environment. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and practice CPR. Assessment involves demonstration of CPR techniques on Adult, Child and Infant manikins for 2 minutes each on the floor, role play and multiple choice theory questions.
There are also multiple choice question elements too. If you are unsuccessful in the assessment, the instructor will provide further training at the end of the course, and re-assess you on the day. If you are still unsuccessful you can make arrangements to attend another session, and you’ll be able to re-sit the assessment at no extra cost [maximum 2 attempts].
Upon successful completion of the course you will be issued an industry recognized Statement of Attainment for the competency units.
